From the public tender stage, I led the team in analyzing the site’s commercial value, urban visibility, accessibility, privacy, and surrounding high-density context.
We also researched high-rise headquarters and premium office products to understand floorplate efficiency, core planning, leasing flexibility, and corporate image.
Using Rhino and Grasshopper, we translated site conditions and planning data into visual analytical diagrams, providing a clear, data-driven foundation for the design strategy.

Artist Hostel - Zhoushan Island

Zhoushan Huaniao Island Tourism Company invited us to design an artist retreat on a highly constrained coastal site.
Within the limited footprint, the project accommodates two guestrooms on the first floor and an artist exhibition space on the second floor. The entire building is constructed with cast-in-place fair-faced concrete, with a rooftop water feature and a cantilevered viewing platform extending toward the sea.
The project was coordinated in Revit across architecture, structure, and MEP disciplines, and was developed through to the construction documentation stage.

A Glowing Arrival Landmark for the Northern Ferry Terminal
This competition proposal was developed for a new visitor center at the northern ferry terminal of Huaniao Island.
Inspired by the idea of a lighthouse, the design organizes a series of illuminated boxes into a small architectural village that glows at night and marks the arrival point of the island.
The massing strategy reinterprets the form and scale of local fishermen’s houses, transforming the terminal from a purely transportation facility into an artistic coastal destination.
By combining ferry circulation, visitor services, island identity, and nighttime visual attraction, the proposal creates a memorable arrival experience and encourages visitors to engage with the site as a public landmark.
The project was shortlisted for the AIA Shanghai Unbuilt Best Project nomination.
